Caesarean Section Priceless Moment

Clinic and Hospital

One of the most rewarding surgeries we perform is a Caesarean Section.

An emergency procedure performed due to a dog’s pelvic canal being too small to pass the size of the pups for a natural birth.

There are many reasons a bitch may  have a littler delivered by Caesarean Section, one quite common, when a bitch has a small litter (1 or 2 puppies) there may not be enough hormones to induce labor, resulting in Caesarean.

It is important to become familiar with what to expect as  normal birthing procedures so you can readily identify unusual symptoms to tell your veterinarian if you suspect anything is not going well.

Breeds Prone to Caesarean

Some breeds are more prone than others  including the Bulldog, Pug, Boston Terrier, Pekingese, Boxer, French Bulldog, and Shih Tzu.
